Not a part of London you are likely to walk past (where the West End goes into the City) – but Cleopatra’s Needle is worth a quick look.
Two large bronze sphinxes guard this ancient (3500 years) obelisk on the banks of the river. Probably the oldest thing in London apart from the River Thames itself
